Federal Immigration Pathway

Express Entry Canada — Your Fastest Route to PR

Express Entry is the federal system Canada uses to manage permanent residence applications for skilled workers through three programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Manzil Immigration helps you build the strongest possible profile, understand exactly where you stand, and respond to an Invitation to Apply (ITA) without costly mistakes.

The Basics

How Express Entry Works

1

Create an online profile and get ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

2

IRCC runs regular draws — some open to all candidates, others target specific categories (French language, healthcare, trades, education, agriculture).

3

Top-ranked candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

4

You have 60 days to submit a complete PR application after an ITA.

2026 Update

2026 Express Entry — What's Changed

Unlike previous years, 2026 no longer has one single "current" CRS cut-off score — cut-offs now vary by draw type (general, category-based, or PNP-linked), so your realistic score depends on which category you qualify for.

Category-based draws for French-language proficiency have also become a major pathway this year, with IRCC running some of its largest French-language draws to date — a route many applicants overlook because they assume Express Entry is English-only.

Manzil tracks every draw as it happens and updates client strategies accordingly, rather than relying on outdated cut-off numbers.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions — Express Entry Canada

What is a good CRS score in 2026?
It depends on the draw category — general draws, category-based draws, and PNP-linked draws each have different cut-offs. We'll tell you exactly where you stand for each.
Can I apply without a job offer?
Yes, especially under FSWP — a job offer helps but isn't mandatory.
How long does Express Entry PR take?
Typically several months after receiving an ITA, assuming a complete and accurate application.
Does a provincial nomination guarantee PR?
It adds 600 CRS points, which virtually guarantees an ITA in the next draw, but the PR application itself still needs to be approved.
